Set in the year 2031, during the era of COVID-94, European seas are mysteriously drying up for unknown reasons. Polish filmmaker Filip Nowak reaches out to a group of independent sea researchers in the Netherlands, determined to document their findings. What remains is this recovered footage.
Inspired by Frisian myths and legends, the film is rich with references to Friesland’s folklore and cultural symbols, including the iconic Friesland flag. It also weaves in elements of modern urban legends, such as the Black Tower of Leeuwarden,
a symbol of corporate corruption in the eyes of the youth.
