What happens when an artist outsources his own existence?
For one week, Horace hires an actor to replace him in every aspect of his life—attending classes at the Academy, meeting with friends, and even showering in his place. Unbeknownst to them, Horace’s friends and colleagues become unwitting participants in a surreal social experiment, interacting with the actor as if he were the real Horace.
What starts as an absurd performance directed remotely by Horace soon takes an unexpected turn. As the actor fully inhabits the role, he begins to question the boundaries between acting and identity. If he plays Horace convincingly enough, does he not become him? When the performer tries to seize control of the film itself, the experiment spirals into a bizarre battle for authorship, selfhood, and the nature of personal identity.
Blending comedy, psychological tension, and meta-cinema, ID explores the limits of performance and the unsettling fluidity of identity in an age of curated personas.
